Happy Halloween!!

We're going trick or treating tonight. Well, sorta. ;) BFF is coming over and we're going to haul her and her kids around via a trailer attached to the 4wheeler. HAHAH Redneck style.
I tried to get her to steal a bale of hay from the church up the road, but she said that I would go straight to hell for that one. It's not like they will use it after tonight. Right?!?
OK so I wouldn't steal from a church but it would come in handy tonight. :)

I'm kinda excited about going. I'm going to try to take as many pics as I can. No, not of me. Of everyone else. lol Those of you that know me, do you actually think I'd take pics of me? Totally laughable. Not happening.

Anyway, we haven't been TOTing with kids in about 4 or 5 years. Should be interesting.

Hope everyone has a blast tonight wherever and whatever you're doing. And be SAFE!

Well, looks like Murphy moved in.

You know, Murphy's Law.
if anything can go wrong it will

It seems that since our money is tight, all things bad are happening right now. Our thermostat broke night before last. The same night our ceiling fan died in the master bedroom. This is what I get for cleaning the damn thing.

Now, I don't know about you but I can NOT live with out a fan in the bedroom. I have to have the noise and the air movement while I sleep. So for now we have a widdle baby fan in there. Just enough to give me the sound I need to sleep.

Tuesday morning we get up to sub zero temps. OK not really but 30 degrees in MS is fucking cold to us. So we get up, I go to turn the heat on and it never cuts on. Shit. So K came home that night and got to looking at it. The unit in the attic is fine. Working exactly as it's suppose to. So that leaves the thermostat in the hall way. He took the cover off, blew all the dust and rust off and it came on. Um, it's not suppose to have rust on it.
So we're going this weekend to get a digital/programmable one. I've been wanting one anyway to try to save on our light bill. *if they really work like that* So instead of taking a chance with this one we'll just replace it.

But, isn't it funny how when things are tight, everything that can go wrong does? This economy is scaring the shit out of me. I'm SO glad that gas prices are going down. We hit $1.99 the other day. YAY!! *happy dance* I just hope groceries go back down. At least a little bit.

Why I've been MIA

I have learned how to crochet. Yes, me, the non-crafty one of the group. I'm all excited. BFF has known how to since she could basically hold it in her hands. So she took time Friday to take me to Hobby Lobby and buy my first hook and yarn.

She taught me how to single stitch. Well sorta. It was hard as hell to figure it out at first. My brain went into over drive and it wouldnt compute. I couldnt slow it down enough to absorb the info.
So, I came home and practiced. I redid it quite a few times. Actually, I thought I would have to cut the used yarn off because I was wearing it thin. lol

I got up Saturday, after I had mastered the sc (single stitch) and searched youtube for lessons on how to double stitch. Actually I wanted to learn the shell stitch but decided against that since the videos were confusing the shit out of me.

I've now go the dc (double stitch) down pat. I'm actually picking up speed. I'm so proud of myself.

I'll get pics as soon as I have something picture worthy. Right now I'm just on row 2. Not that much to see.

Yay! Cooler weather is here.....again

Gotta love living in Mississippi. You just never know when the weather is actually going to change for the season.

It's suppose to be pretty cool this week. High of right under 80! That's awesome for us. Usually we dont see cool weather until Nov/Dec.

Which leads me to, we went to the grocery store this morning. I get to cook again! YAY! *happy dance* I love cool nights when I can crack a window and have my house smelling of the crisp cool night and food! Nothing like it!

Plus, who can be in a bad mood when the birds are chirping, the sun is shining, the sky is the bluest ever and it's cool outside!

Don't hate me

I ordered Pizza Hut tonight. I KNOW! So wrong. Yet so damn good!

I have to find more healthier recipes. Chicken is just not my thang and to eat it constant is not working. I'd rather be a vegetarian. Seriously.

So tomorrow after work, it is my mission to find healthy recipes that aren't all chicken. *yuck*

Move along!

Heathers 2

So someone around Hollywood has been planting bugs in peoples ears about doing a Heathers 2. Seriously I'm all for it. It was the first movie that made me fall deeply and madly in love with Christian Slater. Yes he was a little crazy in that movie but that's what made me love him even more. LOL

I just hope it doesnt turn out like Lost Boys 2. That movie sucked big ole donkey balls. Seriously. I was NOT happy!

OH and doesn't Christian Slater's new show come on this week? Have I missed it already?

Eating Habits

My eating habits suck ass. I'm an emotional eater and with all the stress on me right now, it's just not a pretty site. I tend to avoid all mirrors so when I looked at myself yesterday I almost threw up.

So, today we went to the grocery store and I bought healthy foods. I just ate an apple with the carb friendly yogurt. It was good. And sweet. And totally not what I expected. I'm not sure what I expected but it wasnt that. I really need to change how I eat.

It's not really what I eat but how much and at what time. We ate after 8 last night and I swear for the past 3 nights. That's a real bad no no.

So I'm going to scour the internet and try to find a few more healthier recipes. All I bought was chicken (and I'm so not a fan of chicken). I have to find a way to cook it so I dont get tired of it.

I also bought apples (like I said before), baby carrots, fat free ranch (which I'm hoping doesn't taste as bad as I remember) and wheat english muffins.

So, starting today, I'm back on my health kick. I seriously need someone to kick my ass every now and then to keep me on track. I need someone questioning what I eat and when or if I'm working out. I just can't do this alone. I've tried.

So if my post in the near future slack off or are a tad bit bitchy (:)) please bear with me in this transition.

Thanks!! ;)

Office Pics

I hate the yellow. With a passion. Once you sit in here for a while your eyes start to go all blurry. I'm more than likely going to just paint it the same color as our extra bedroom. I think I have a half gallon of it left. It only took 1 coat last time so hopefully it'll only take one coat in the office too.

I got a wild hair today

Last week I was so down I hardly cleaned my house. It wasn't dirty to begin with but I just had no energy to get up and clean like I was suppose to. Well I made up for that today.

I spent 2 hrs working on our finances today. After that my energy level kicked into high gear. It could have possibly been panic mode. ;)

I cleaned my office. Really cleaned it. Not just hid stuff in drawers. *blushes*
I'll be spending more time in here since my monitor on the laptop busted and I'm not attached to a real monitor for the time being. So I'm stuck in the office staring at these yellow ass walls. *yuck*

So I got up and deep cleaned it. I even took pictures. :D

Then I got up and cleaned my husbands closet out. (we have 2 closets in our master) I cleaned all the crap up off the floor. It's amazing how he refuses to pick up a coat hanger after he knocks it off. *rolls eyes* I cleaned all of his old work uniforms off the top shelf that have been there forever. He wanted to save them to work in around the house but he hasnt worn them in I know a year and a half. Garbage. :D I got rid of all of his jeans that he hasn't worn in 2 years too. I haven't thrown them away yet though. I'm actually going to let him do that. Heaven knows as soon as I do he'll be looking for them. lol Then I vacuumed the floor in the closet. Since you know, I could actually see it.

I then vacuumed my mattress. Yep, my mattress. It's suppose to help with the allergens.

I washed 15 loads of clothes. OK, not really but it felt like it. Most of you know how bad I hate doing laundry. So I'd been putting it off for a while now. I got it all put up and the sheets changed.

I found my curtain tie backs in my husbands closet that I thought I threw away. So I put them on the curtains in the extra bedroom. Looks MUCH better now. :p

It's 8 p.m. now and I feel like I could run a marathon. I'm all hyped up.

Wonder what I can get into tomorrow? ;)~

Halloween Drinks

Found this over at Martha Daily

Original link found HERE

Just for grown-up goblins: Serve up a little black magic -- in the form of cocktails made with vodka that's as dark as night.

Ghost in the Graveyard
Serves 1
2 ounces black vodka
2 ounces creme de cacao or coffee-flavored liqueur
1 scoop vanilla ice cream
Pinch of finely grated nutmeg, for garnish

In a glass, combine vodka and creme de cacao, and set aside. Place a scoop of ice cream in a highball glass, and slowly pour vodka mixture over ice cream. Garnish with nutmeg; serve immediately.

Screwed-Up Screwdriver
Serves 1
1/4 cup ice
1/2 cup freshly squeezed tangerine juice
1 1/2 ounces black vodka
1 black licorice twist, for serving

Place ice in a tall glass. Pour juice into glass. Pour vodka over the back of a cocktail spoon into glass so it sits on top of juice and creates a layer of black. Slice 1/4 inch off each end of licorice, and use as a straw. Serve immediately.

Berry Scary Martini
Serves 1
1 cup ice
1 ounce black vodka
2 ounces cherry juice
Fresh raspberries and blueberries, for garnish

Combine ice, vodka, and cherry juice in a cocktail shaker; shake vigorously. Pour into a martini glass. Thread raspberries and blueberries onto a cocktail skewer, and place in drink. Serve immediately.

*Oh what I would give to host a Halloween party one year. Maybe once we get some land we can do it. These drinks look yummy!

How to torture your cat.

Aww. OK Baby, smile for the camera

Mom, this is embarrassing.

OK Ha Ha You've had your laugh now get this damn thing off me!

LOL Poor baby! I was shocked she even let me put it on her in the first place.

Just a few Halloween/Fall decor pics

It's not much but hell right now who can afford to go out and just blow money one seasonal decor? ;)
